In Newark, New Jersey, the Dellaney Hall camp is being protested against. It has been accused of the usual ICE abuses, and is facing a strong wave of local opposition. If you live in the area or the state, join a protest- Mobilize has a list of protests you can join. The Regulars defending it have been filmed using tear gas against protesters, so if you can afford to, purchase goggles and respirators online or from local stores. If you cannot, contact your representatives in state and local government or in Congress and demand their opposition to the conduct of this camp in particular and ICE in general.

More broadly, you can take action against ICE. Gather for Good is working to distribute aid to migrants who need it and is accepting volunteered resources and time. If you can, spread awareness on how to handle encounters with ICE- the ACLU has a guide on how to verify, document, and report ICE sightings- and/or how to handle legal attacks from the government- the National Immigration Law Center and AOC's Know Your Rights website provide legal counsel to migrants and others being harassed by ICE, Border Patrol, and the DOJ. Meanwhile, a major tool of ICE is the web of surveillance that exists in the modern world. In particular, they have used AI powered cameras of Flock, a surveillance company that catalogs license plates and has opened its data to full use by the current regime. DeFlock is creating maps to track the areas being surveilled by the company as well as others, and is working to get city councils to end their contracts with the company. You can join them in their efforts and in August for their upcoming week of action.

Lastly, Pride Month began yesterday. In this time, it is important to defend queer people across the country from a regime set on destroying them. There are many queer advocacy groups- the Trevor Project provides free counseling to queer people struggling with their mental health, the Human Rights Campaign has been and is fighting for legal rights of queer people, and many other groups work to do similar things. If you can, give either donations or time to their causes. Just as importantly, you can work towards fighting queerphobia in your community, challenging it whenever it appears and supporting queer people that you know through the journey of their identities.
