Last Sunday House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries met with Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and close ally of his. The details of this meeting have not been made clear, but after failing the American people so many times, Jeffries does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Kushner is not a member of any branch of the government, he is merely a member of the monied interests backing Trump. This is not a legitimate meeting with fellow politicians to bring about policy, this is a backrooms deal directly with the Trump regime. The Trump regime is on the backfoot, and the midterms are only two months away. This meeting threatens all the momentum that has been building towards meaningful change. Any backroom deals with them will lead to concessions, and any concessions to this regime are a betrayal of the American people.
