        In a recent piece of good news, Trump has been forced to Unfreeze funding for Maine. Janet Mills, Governor of Maine and outspoken Trump critic, had her state's funding threatened after publicly opposing Trump on his anti-trans policies. This funding was meant for a child nutrition program and was being held hostage so the GOP could impose it's hateful agenda on the state. This victory over the Trump regime is yet more proof that the American people can still see this man's agenda overturned, with further evidence in the recent failure of Republican efforts in Nebraska and North Carolina. Every election in 2025 paves the way to the midterms of 2026, and the midterms of 2026 pave the way to the election of 2028. If you can vote, you can find elections you can vote in on the Vote America website. If you can't but wish to register, you can use the same website to learn how to register in your state. To help impact specific issues, you can donate to Oath, a website which tracks specific issues and allows you to donate to candidates advancing legislation on those issues.

        Meanwhile, there has been a major step backwards in migrant rights- Trump appointed Judge Stephanie Haines ruled in favor of Trump invoking the Alien Enemies Act. The last time this was invoked was during World War 2 to detain Japanese Americans en mass who where overwhelmingly patriotic on racist suspicions about their loyalty. The justification for this is the dubious claims of an "invasion" by Tren de Aragua with flimsy evidence provided whenever evidence is provided at all. These deportations have been fueled by anti immigrant rhetoric whipped up by the same administration willing to admit Afrikaner- white South African- refugees on the basis of white genocide conspiracy theories. This cannot be allowed. This cannot be accepted by America- by any decent society rules by laws and justice. Pushback must continue, must be strengthened. Find your Representative in Congress and the House and demand they take action against this. If you can, donate to Migrant Legal Aid, the National Immigration Law Center, or any other group defending migrant rights you can. If you can't spread knowledge of AOC's self explanatory Know Your Rights website or about the similar tarjetas rojas. Remember, fascists always come for those they can convince people to turn out first. Once they are done with the migrants, they will find someone else to hunt down.

        Lastly, the nationwide measles outbreak has reached more than 1000 cases, with experts estimating that number is seriously underreported. While deaths have thankfully been few thanks to modern medical technology, the disease is only spreading and the toll will only grow. The disease has spread to Mexico, where Mexican Mennonites visiting Texas brought the disease. Mexico has begun a serious outreach program, hoping to increase vaccinations rates not just in their own borders but in America- In El Paso, the Mexican consulate is offering free vaccinations provided by doctors in a touching act of charity. If you live outside of areas with serious infection, keep an eye on cases near you so you will know when to take precautions.
