Trump's coalition is beginning to collapse in on itself. While his impulses have mostly been targeted against the laundry list his allies have labelled undesirable, his incompetence has not. After the passing of Trump's One, Big, Beautiful Bill, tension between him and Musk became a proper feud backed by presidential authority and billions of dollars. Musk accused the bill of undoing his work at DoGE, and in a characteristic act of retaliation, Trump threatened to end contracts with his companies. Musk has since voiced support of impeaching Trump. While these two powers of the American right duke it out, Trump's Freedom Caucus is starting to fray. Margorie Taylor Greene, a longtime and vocal supporter of Trump, spoke out against the BBB despite voting for it after discovering a provision that limits AI regulation. A number of other representatives have started to hurt because of their refusal to disobey the party line, with Nebraska Representative Mike Flood facing loud backlash over his support of the bill.

This is a critical time for the opposition- Democrat or otherwise. The Freedom Caucus and the sad remnants of the Grand Old Party are beginning to consume each other. Their base is doubting them, their doners are leaving them, and they cannot even stand one another. While Trump continues to trample the law and the rights of Americans, his regime is beginning to shake. Now is the time to strike and to show the American public that they are not alone in their anger, in their opposition. The 50501 movement, which saw massive turnout against the Trump regime, is holding the No Kings protests this 14th, the day of Trump's birthday parade, while other protests are being organized by groups like Indivisible. It is time for the American people to mobilize against him and his agenda, and make it clear to the world and the generations who will come after us that we do not share the hatred of this man and his supporters!

In less happy news, last month on the 27th, Charlotte Fosgate, a trans girl of 17 years old, was found dead near the St Johns bridge. On the 2nd, she had tweeted an image of the Portland skyline with the caption, "its a pretty view", shortly followed by "long way down". What would have been a tragedy on its own was made exponentially worse by the response to it- while half of the internet joined in an outpouring of sympathy, the other half joined in an outpouring of vitriol. The cartoonist StoneToss, believed to be Texan Hans Graebener, immediately posted a promo code for a 41% discount on his merchandise, the number being a reference to a study that says 41% of trans people commit suicide. Matt Walsh, a right wing troll, was somehow more on the nose, saying, “If there’s any trans joy, if it happens at all, it happens very briefly sometime between the 25th story and the ground”. This sort of hatred is institutional for the right. The best actors among them are able to hold back this hatred to maintain their image in polite society, but they all believe this- that queer people have no place in America, and that the sooner they are dead, the better. This is the vision the Freedom Caucus has for this country, and they must be fought as they struggle to force themselves onto America. If you know any trans or otherwise queer people affected by this death or by the surge in hatred the right have become comfortable with, then reach out to them and offer what they need to work through it. If you can, donate to Transitional Justice, which help trans people who need housing to escape abuse, The Trevor Project, which provides mental health aid to queer people across the country, more localized groups such as the Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund, or any groups you know that is willing to stand up for what's right.

Finally, the measles outbreak has began to slow, with cases in Pennsylvania and Michigan ending- however, the outbreak is still serious and can still kill the people it infects. If you become infected, seek medical attention to the infection lasts the lowest amount of time possible. If you are exposed to someone who is infected, then self isolate if you can so you don't unknowingly infect anyone else.

        God Bless America
