        A special election was held in Iowa in the last week of August, giving Democrats the chance to break a state-wide Republican supermajority. In a district won by Trump by 10 points in 2024, the Democratic candidate Catelin Drey won by 11 points. A former Republican stronghold was won by Democrats by a wide margin, showing that Trump's grip on power, even among his former base, has begun to vanish. The momentum of the Trump regime has vanished. Now, the response of the American people is critical. First we must delay Trump's agenda as much as possible and work to win in 2026 and 2028 so we can overturn his agenda. The American opposition now must plan not only a defense of the constitution, but an offensive to regain our rights and liberty.

        A recent victory of the American people was lost in Florida as an appeals court overturned a ruling that ended the construction of the gleefully named "Alligator Alcatraz". In spite of this setback, the fact that the project was suspended at all is a sign of hope for America. Opposition to this pillar of evil being erected in the Everglades can succeed and must be continued. Friends of the Everglades, the group who won the case in the first place, is continuing the fight, while the ACLU is continuing its independent lawsuit. If you live in Florida, you can join an existing protest through groups like Indivisible or plan one of your own- the 50/50/1 Movement has created online instructions on how to plan and begin your own protest.

        Finally, the escalating Epstein scandal has become more and more damaging for Trump. A bi-partisan movement has been joined by Democrats and a number of Republicans, including MTG and Thomas Massie, demanding the release of the Epstein files. Trump's refusal to comply with his followers and their demands to release the Epstein files has led to them acknowledging that the man who was one of Epstein's closest friends likely shared his vile tastes. What might have been a simple and pathetic backtrack among many has become more sinister as Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's co-conspirator, has been moved from a maximum security prison to one with every amenity you can get in prison in exchange for her denying Trump's obvious connection with her partner. While nothing may come of this effort, for the sake of the women scared by Epstein we must at least make that effort. You can contact your congressmen and pressure them to join
