        The DHS has seen its first major loss in the war it is waging on the American people. Kristi Noem has been stripped of her office and reassigned to the "Shield of the Americas", a brand new initiative where Trump can hide all of his embarrassing staffers. This should not be taken as a total victory- the DHS as a whole and ICE in particular are still carrying out Trump's unamerican agenda, with Senator Mullin set to replace her- but it is a victory nonetheless. It is proof of the power of the American people when they mobilize. The famously stubborn Trump was forced to bend the knee to popular opinion. Sooner than we think, we will see the end of ICE- but only if we continue the righteous work we have been at over the past year.

        As mentioned, Senator Mullin is set to replace Noem. He is just as loyal to Trump as her and will continue the attacks on the tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free. His confirmation hearing is scheduled for the 18th of this month- contact your senators and demand they resist his confirmation. The longer we drag this out, the slower the DHS can return to its usual pace. Meanwhile, there is plenty you can do to resist ICE outside of this. Gather for Good works to get food to families forced to hide from ICE agents and is accepting both donations and volunteer hours. The National Immigration Law Center works to provide legal aid to migrants in detention. ICE and the DHS may have little regard for the law, but every dollar they must spend defending their actions in court is a dollar they cannot spend hunting down migrants. Finally, you can organize yourself. Reach out to like minded members of your community and establish networks of communication through Signal or other messaging apps to track ICE movements in your neighborhood and to organize aid for migrants.

        Finally, another No Kings protest is scheduled for the 28th. It already has protest planned in every state, plus DC, Puerto Rico, and 14 other countries. Join a protest near your to make clear to both Republicans and your fellow patriots that we the people have not forgotten how wrong the actions of this regime are.
