As the DHS shutdown has dragged on, ICE has expanded its operations into airports in a blatant act of intimidation. With ICE's funding independently secured, they are able to harass and stalk travelers- already, information they've taken from the TSA has led to 800 arrests. If you can, avoid flying at all. If you must, The Intercept has published a guide on how to keep them out of your phone and devices- to summarize, turn off fingerprint and facial recognition and log out of your account before going through check in can protect a good deal of information, among other methods. Meanwhile, contact your representatives and senators and demand they do not fund DHS. While that may end this, it would allow the DHS the funding they need to carry out every other vile act that they, thanks to their current lack of funds, cannot. This is a desperate act of intimidation, and if we give in, they will come back for more.
More broadly, Gather for Good is working to directly aid migrants and others targeted by ICE by providing food. The 50/50/1 movement has created a guide on how to respond whenever ICE shows up in your neighborhood. The most important thing is to prepare in advance with other, likeminded people in your community so that your community's response is planned and concentrated and effective.
Lastly, the 50/50/1 movement is planning actions on May the 1st- protests, walkouts, and boycotts. Every time we have the chance, we must make ourselves heard so that the Trump regime and its supporters know how few they are and so that we know how many we are. Be there.
God bless America.
