The battle over gerrymandering has continued. More states have joined Louisiana in trying to rig the elections for their representatives, and the Supreme Court of Virginia has overturned the redistricting efforts by democratic Governor Spanberger and the people of Virginia. In Tennessee, the first state to formally approve this new gerrymandering push, several state reps have been removed from committee assignments in an act of petty revenge for their protests against these attempts to suppress minority voters. However, action is being taken and can be taken by you against this. The maps in Tennessee are already facing resistance from state democrats and the NAACP, while Virginia Democrats are already preparing to fight the ruling they face. If you live in one of those two states, you can contact your state reps and urge them to support this fight. For Tennessee more specifically, you can donate your time or money to them in their fight against these rulings, and for Virginia, you can contact Governor Spanberger and encourage her fight against this.

While the actions of these state level Republicans are acts of suppression, they still demonstrate the power of state legislators to enact change on a local level. Campaigning against the Trump regime can be done at a national level, but we must also work on a local level to empower and maintain national change. The States Project exists to try to create the state level trifectas that the Republicans have used so effectively against the American people, campaigning for state senators, governors, and justices. They are campaigning across the country in preparation for these midterms and are accepting volunteered time and donations.

        God Bless America.
